Dells Precision M4500 which includes a choice of either the Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor and for those those looking for a real performance edge, the Core i7-920XM Quad Core Extreme Edition. With that also comes your choice of either an NVIDIA Quadro FX 1800M or 880M graphics card that allows the 15.6-inch 16:9 widescreen display to support 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution with 100% color gamut.
Some of the other options on the M4500 include a 3MP webcam, a backlit keyboard with multitouch trackpad, Gobi 2.0 mobile broadband support and a 64GB SSD mini card that offers additional data storage space without the need of having to remove the optical drive.
Even with these features, the M4500 weighs in at 6lbs, a full 2.5lbs less then the M6500. Add to this a thickness of 1.1-inches and youve got a pretty attractive offering for either yourself or a mobile workforce, especially when you consider the availability of a 9 cell battery that can provide up to 7 hours, 40 minutes of power.
Pricing is expected to come in just shy of $1700 but thats for the Core i5 entry level model. Expect it to go up appropriately depending upon optional hardware choices made.
